The ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard encompasses and expands upon the ISO 9001:2015 requirements with a greater emphasis on laboratory operational competency and generation of valid results. The performance of Beacon's AOAC PTM granted Aflatoxin Plate Kit was published in the Journal of AOAC International, Vol 94, No 5, 1519-1530, 2011. "Aflatoxin Plate Kit, Performance Tested MethodSM 081003". Beacon's kit was independently tested, evaluated, and certified by the AOAC Research Institute as a Performance Tested MethodSM.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) created the Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) Program in 1995 which verifies the performance of innovative technologies that have the potential to improve protection of human health and the environment. ETV accelerates the entrance of new environmental technologies into domestic and international market places. ETV's goal is well described as "The goal of ETV is to provide credible performance data for commercial-ready environmental technologies to speed their implementation for the benefit of purchasers, permitters, vendors, financers, and the public".
